NASA Coverage of the 2011 Japanese Earthquake

Jason worked with NASA’s ten field centers and various missions, programs and partners to curate a central point for NASA’s resources in response to the Japanese Earthquake of 2011. Using source materials from these various inputs, Jason and other web editors from across the country worked with near real-time satellite images to build out a slideshow gallery of the latest images of flooding in Japan. The team also worked to build feature stories about NASA’s contributions to the earthquake efforts. As the situation unfolded, Jason also created a page for public comments within the section in response to an outpouring from members of the public writing in their thoughts about the images we were posting.
